Kambi recruits former Disney and Expedia exec as chief people officer
Kambi has appointed Michelle Unsworth as its new chief people officer, overseeing all aspects of the company’s global people strategy, including talent acquisition, leadership development and employee experience.

Based in London, Unsworth brings over 20 years of experience leading people functions and driving transformation across global organisations.
She has built an extensive career supporting major brands in the technology, travel and entertainment sectors.

Most recently, Unsworth served as VP of people at online identity verification company Veriff, where she created its first company-wide people strategy.

Before joining Veriff, she spent nearly five years at Travelport, first as senior people director, global, and later as VP of people.

Earlier in her career, Unsworth held senior HR roles at Expedia Group from August 2016 to November 2019, first as HR director for EMEA and later as senior HR director, global, supporting the company’s international workforce through periods of rapid growth and restructuring.

She also spent four years at The Walt Disney Company from September 2012 to August 2016, where she worked as an HR business partner for licensing, sales, direct-to-consumer, and Disney Channel operations across EMEA and the UK & Ireland.
Female presence in executive team

Her appointment further strengthens Kambi’s executive leadership team, expanding female representation at the most senior level of the company.

“Michelle’s leadership and expertise will be instrumental in fostering an environment where our teams can thrive, innovate and grow together,” said Kambi CEO Werner Becher.

“As we continue to establish ourselves as the home of premium sports betting solutions, Michelle will play a central role in aligning our people strategy with our long-term business objectives, ensuring that our culture not only supports but accelerates our long-term growth ambitions.”

Unsworth added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Kambi, which has firmly established itself as a world leader in B2B sports betting provision.

“The opportunity to work with such talented individuals and to build upon the company’s strong, people-focused culture is incredibly exciting. I look forward to helping empower this team to achieve even greater success.”

Last year, Kambi promoted its former SVP of sales, Sarah Robertson, to chief commercial officer.
