The restructuring assigns distinct strategic and executive responsibilities aimed at supporting sustainable expansion in Brazil’s regulated betting and gaming landscape.
Flutter framed the shift in a LinkedIn post as a response to rapid market growth and the need for clearer institutional alignment with Flutter International.
João Studart has been appointed chairman of Flutter Brazil, a role designed to bolster board-level coordination and reinforce the company’s institutional presence.
Studart, an avid poker player, was the founder and CEO of NSX Group, the parent company of top Brazilian sportsbook Betnacional. Flutter acquired a majority stake in the company in May.
The company noted that Studart will support long-term planning while maintaining alignment with Flutter International’s broader strategic framework.
Monte to take the helm
Operational leadership will transition to Eduardo Monte, who has been promoted to CEO of Flutter Brazil after serving as the company’s chief operating officer.
Monte joined the group following senior positions in technology-driven consumer businesses and has managed operational scaling efforts in Brazil’s online gaming market.
He began his career as a financial supervisor at Recife Monte Hotel, where he spent two and a half years overseeing budgeting, cash-flow management, and financial reporting.
Monte then moved to Deloitte in Recife, advancing to manager in corporate finance over an eight-year period. In that role, he managed valuation, restructuring, and transaction-advisory projects for clients across multiple sectors.
He subsequently joined Rio Bravo Investimentos as a private equity associate, working on investment analysis, due diligence, and portfolio management initiatives in the Northeast region.
Monte later became director of mergers and acquisitions at Hapvida Saúde, serving for more than seven years in Fortaleza.
His responsibilities included evaluating strategic opportunities, executing transactions, and supporting integration efforts during a period of rapid expansion for one of Brazil’s largest healthcare groups.
In his new role as CEO of Flutter Brazil, Monte will report directly to Dan Taylor, CEO of Flutter International.
