Fanatics partners with OpenBet for player protection capabilities
OpenBet and Fanatics Betting & Gaming have entered into an agreement that will see Fanatics Sportsbook implement OpenBet’s full Protect Suite across its US operations.

The rollout includes OpenBet Locator, a geolocation and fraud-prevention tool, and Neccton, an AI-driven platform for responsible gaming and anti-money laundering oversight.
The technology package is designed to strengthen Fanatics’ compliance framework and expand its player protection capabilities as the sportsbook continues its national growth.

Fanatics Sportsbook now operates in 23 US jurisdictions, reaching close to 95% of the addressable online sports betting market.

Integrating OpenBet’s Protect Suite allows the operator to streamline regulatory processes and reinforce safeguards that regulators increasingly expect.

The companies stated that Locator provides precise and rapid verification of player location, a core requirement in every regulated sports betting state.

It also supports fraud prevention by validating activity in real time, helping operators maintain uninterrupted service while meeting statutory obligations.

Jordan Levin, CEO of OpenBet, said: “This dual integration sets a new industry standard for responsible gaming, AML detection, and geolocation compliance. It demonstrates what’s possible when two technology-driven organisations align around a shared vision of trust, safety, and player experience.”
Greater RG controls through AI and machine learning

Neccton brings additional capabilities to Fanatics’ risk-management systems. The platform uses machine learning to monitor behaviour and transaction patterns, enabling earlier identification of customers who may be at risk or exhibiting unusual activity.

These insights allow operators to intervene in line with state-mandated responsible gambling protocols and financial-crime controls.

The integration underscores the inherent need for operators to employ advanced analytical systems as regulators heighten expectations around player safety and AML vigilance.

Fanatics’ use of Neccton aligns with industry-wide efforts to synthesise data into more responsive customer protection strategies.

Together, OpenBet Locator and Neccton form the core of OpenBet’s Protect suite, a consolidated regulatory technology framework aimed at delivering compliance, player protection functionality, and operational efficiency at scale.

The collaboration positions both companies to meet evolving regulatory requirements while demonstrating a commitment to elevating industry standards.

The partnership also highlights a broader trend in the US betting market, as operators increasingly adopt AI-enabled systems to manage risk, ensure transparency, and alleviate operational burdens associated with multi-state compliance.
