Bede Gaming, the innovative platform solutions provider known for its advanced in-house technical products and comprehensive suite of third-party integrations, is happy to announce it has reached a new compliance benchmark by achieving GLI-19 and GLI-33 certifications.
Achieving these globally-recognised certifications reinforces Bede Gaming’s commitment to compliant and secure gambling technology across its platform. For the provider’s operator partners, the certifications mean greater certainty and reduced friction during a new market entry; the strong technical foundation and reduced compliance complexity will support faster regulatory engagement and provide additional confidence when launching or expanding in jurisdictions that rely on GLI standards.
Tested and certified by eCOGRA, one of the global gaming industry’s leading independent testing and certification authorities, the two technical standards form part of a globally respected framework that defines best practices for interactive gaming and event wagering in a number of key markets, including the UK, Denmark, Malta and British Columbia.
GLI-19 provides the gold standard for Interactive Gaming Systems, covering player account management, platform security, operational controls, game integrations and the core technology required to support regulated online gaming. GLI-33 applies to Event Wagering Systems and sets out the technical requirements for sportsbook and online betting operations.
Together, the certifications provide operators and regulators with clear assurance that Bede Gaming technology has been tested against thorough international standards. They also strengthen Bede’s readiness for markets where GLI standards play a central role in regulatory approval, particularly across North America – but recognised and respected globally.
The provider’s successful acquisition of both standards comes as the result of an in-depth, cross-functional audit, conducted over a period of several months. This project highlights Bede’s commitment to upholding the highest compliance standards, as well as its continued investment in building technology that is not only flexible and scalable, but also robust enough to meet the expectations of highly regulated markets.
In particular, having GLI-19 and GLI-33 certifications will strengthen Bede’s standing in North American markets, with a large number of US states adopting the GLI framework as the go-to set of standards that iGaming businesses must adhere to in order to legally operate, and recently-opened Canadian provinces such as Alberta also adopting a similar set of requirements as well.
Gerrard Thompson, Head of Risk & Compliance at Bede Gaming, said “We are delighted to have achieved certification to GLI-19 and GLI-33 with eCOGRA. Together with our existing ISO 27001 and WLA-SCS certifications, they provide absolute clarity on the maturity of our platform, processes, and governance controls. They indicate to both regulators and prospective new customers that our technology has been independently assessed against some of the most rigorous standards in the industry, and that Bede is ready to hit the ground running in an ever-expanding list of regulated markets.
“This is especially important in North America, where regulatory expectations are high and speed to market matters. Our goal is to help operators launch with confidence, knowing that the platform behind them is proven, secure and built for regulated growth.”
Aoife Nic Chuirc, Head of Sales at eCOGRA, said "It was a pleasure working with the Bede Gaming team throughout the GLI-19 and GLI-33 certification process. Their commitment to quality and compliance was clear from the outset, and it's great to see that work recognised with these certifications. We'd like to congratulate everyone involved and wish the team every success as they continue to grow in regulated markets."
With GLI-19 and GLI-33 now secured, Bede Gaming further reinforces its position as a trusted platform partner for operators seeking proven, compliant and future-ready technology in regulated gaming markets.
