The Kongebonus Awards, launched in 2022, combine votes from the Kongebonus community with editorial assessment to recognise quality, innovation and player appeal across the iGaming industry, from established names to emerging studios. For 2026, the Awards also reflect a market being reshaped by artificial intelligence, localisation and increasingly sophisticated game mathematics.
This year’s edition builds on the Awards’ strongest year to date. Kongebonus Awards 2025 attracted 1,192 verified votes, a 25% increase year on year, with 57 nominations spanning 18 game developers and 12 casinos across 10 categories.
Last year’s winners include ELK Studios, which took home Most Innovative Game Developer, and Print Studios, whose Uncle Profit was voted Best New Slot. Pragmatic Play’s Gates of Olympus was also inducted as the Readers’ Hall of Fame choice, with several of the awards presented in person by David Nilsen, Editor-in-Chief at ICE Barcelona 2026.
The Kongebonus Awards form part of the Norwegian iGaming comparison and news platform’s wider editorial coverage of the market. Throughout the year, its team tests casino products, reviews new releases and speaks directly with game developers and other industry figures, giving the editorial team a broad view of which products are gaining traction and where the market is moving.
David Nilsen, Editor-in-Chief at Kongebonus, said: “The Kongebonus Awards have grown because they give us something we do not get from industry data alone: a direct view of what Norwegian players genuinely rate at the end of the year.
“Last year we saw record participation, and the winners ranged from some of the biggest names in iGaming to studios that have built incredibly loyal followings through the quality of their games. That mix is what we want the Awards to capture.
“We spend the whole year testing, reviewing and talking to both players and the people building these products, but the Awards are the point where we put that knowledge alongside the voice of our community. We are looking forward to seeing which studios, games and casino brands define 2026.”
Voting is now live at https://www.kongebonus.com/awards/ where readers can learn more and cast their votes.
