ICE Barcelona 2027 reinforces "La Plaza" to consolidate Spain as the engine of the global gambling sector
ICE Barcelona has announced the return of "La Plaza" for its next edition, which will be held from January 18 to 20, 2027 at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue.

Strategically located in Pavilion 3, within the Spanish exhibitor area, this space was born not only as a reception point for local professionals, but as a strategic platform designed together with sectoral associations, both national and regional.

"La Plaza" seeks to overcome the traditional concept of mere showcase of the host country to become a symbol of belonging. The space will offer a dedicated and high visibility environment for operators, suppliers, regulators, specialized media and institutional leaders to connect, collaborate and exhibit the solidity and maturity of the Spanish regulated market before the international audience.

A space designed by and for the Spanish ecosystem
After the increase in the attendance of professionals from key communities such as Catalonia, Valencian Community, Andalusia and Community of Madrid in the previous edition, ICE 2027 redoubles its commitment to the national industry. "La Plaza" will provide the representative entities of the autonomous communities with a structured framework to offer its members a tailor-made experience, promoting regional innovation, technological development and good practices in terms of responsible gambling.

Gonçal Aixa, technical secretary of GRECOJOC, has announced that they will be present in "La Plaza" together with Anesar and considers "La Plaza" as "a fundamental platform to promote the debate on the future of the sector."
"For the next edition, we are already working to present and value the 2026 Gaming Room Barometer prepared by the GRECOJOC association, and use it as a starting point for a conversation about the main challenges and opportunities that operators face in the coming years," says Aixa.

Content, institutional agenda and networking
During the three days of the fair, "La Plaza" will host a technical and institutional agenda structured in four major axes of action. On the one hand, the employers of the sector will lead presentations focused on the present, modernization and regulation of the face-to-face offer (salons, bingos, casinos and hospitality), the socioeconomic impact of the retail sector and the continuous dialogue with the different autonomous administrations. Likewise, transversal aspects such as commercial synergies between the physical and online channels, and joint actions for the protection of the user against the unregulated offer will be addressed.

On the other hand, a framework for direct dialogue with the regional authorities and security forces will be offered to review the legislative current situation that affects the day-to-day of local operations.

The activity will be completed with networking meetings aimed at generating alliances between Spanish professionals and global actors, as well as with an informative space focused on technological innovation applied to means of payment and recreational machines, professional qualification and social responsibility initiatives that place the Spanish face-to-face market in a leading position.

A strategic asset for the future of the industry
Beyond its function as a meeting area, "La Plaza" is consolidated as a key element for visitor structuring and commercial revitalization, building a bridge between the priorities of the domestic market and global opportunities.

Spanish companies, operators, regulators and associations are already invited to actively participate in the configuration of the "La Plaza" content program for ICE Barcelona 2027.
