Both companies continue projects that include new amenities and gaming options designed to support future operations.
Green Valley Ranch poker room reopening
Green Valley Ranch will relaunch its poker room December 18 at 11 a.m., returning to its original location inside the Henderson casino. The venue will operate 24 hours a day and features 15 tables with upgraded audio-visual systems. Games scheduled for the poker room include 4/8 and 8/16 Limit Hold’em; 1/2, 2/3 and 3/5 No Limit Hold’em; Time Rake Hold’em; Pot Limit Omaha; and Omaha Hi/Lo at 4/8, 6/12 and 8/16. The figures represent the blind level rake, where a 1/2 game requires a $1 small blind and $2 big blind.
The relaunch is part of a $200 million propertywide renovation. Other completed improvements at the Henderson resort include updates to West Tower rooms, High-Limit Slot and Table Games rooms, the Polaris casino bar, Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill, and Drop Bar. A renovation of the Regal Theaters complex and plans for a Nielsen’s Frozen Custard outlet are also in progress.
To support the reopening, Green Valley Ranch will run a 24/7 Mystery High Hand Promotion from December 18 through January 1. Prizes ranging from $50 to $500 will be awarded every 30 minutes to the highest hand in the room, and winners will receive entries to a $5,000 drawing scheduled for January 1 at noon.
Progress at Bally’s permanent Chicago site
Bally’s has released interior renderings for its River West casino in Chicago, showing the gaming floor along with dedicated poker and baccarat rooms. The $1.7 billion development is slated to include 3,400 slot machines, a 500-room hotel, a rooftop pool and bar, restaurants, a 3,000-seat theater, and a public park with a riverwalk extension.
A crane was installed last month at the former Tribune printing press site near Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street. Illinois law requires Bally’s to accept wagers at the permanent location by next September. The Illinois Gaming Board paused the project earlier this year for two weeks after reports that a reputed mob-connected waste company was working on-site; the investigation remains ongoing.
Bally’s has been operating a temporary casino inside Chicago’s historic Medinah Temple for more than two years. Since September 2023, it has generated about $270 million in adjusted revenue, including $41 million in state tax revenue and $33.6 million directed to police and firefighter pensions. The company reported $8.4 million in revenue last month, down 13% from November 2024, according to state records.
While financing work continues in Chicago, Bally’s is pursuing a separate project in New York. Under a land deal, the operator would pay $115 million to the Trump Organization once its New York gambling license is issued.
