Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) in February amounted to MOP20.63 billion ($2.57 billion), representing an annual increase of 4.5 percent, according to data released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).
February was widely expected to see an uptick, as the Chinese New Year holiday fell within the month, driving strong visitation and supporting higher gaming and non-gaming spending.

The February figure represents an 8.9 percent decline from January’s GGR, which stood at MOP22.63 billion ($2.79 billion), marking the highest January total since 2019.

The Chinese New Year Golden Week officially commenced on February 15th and ran through February 23rd, during which Macau recorded 1.55 million visitor arrivals according to MGTO. Average daily visitor numbers reached 173,000, exceeding 2019 levels and marking a record high since statistics began. Among them, mainland visitors totaled 1.21 million, with a daily average of 134,000. On the third day of the Chinese New Year (February 19th), single-day arrivals surpassed 228,000, setting a new daily record.

For the first two months of 2026, Macau’s casino GGR reached MOP43.26 billion ($5.38 billion), up 13.9 percent year-on-year. However, the figure remains 14 percent lower than the same period in 2019, when GGR totaled MOP50.31 billion ($6.26 billion).

Analysts at Citigroup had previously forecast February GGR at approximately MOP20 billion ($2.48 billion). That estimate implied a solid 12 percent year-on-year increase for the combined January–February period.
